“Are you boy or girl?”

‘I am a boy, teen age.’

“What do you wear?”

‘Brown shoes, broken pants … I am so poor.’

“The fight is over?”

‘No!  it is a battle. Two tribes are fighting, they use swords, knives, and torches.’

“What century do you think you are now?”

‘About 10.’

“Which continent?”

‘In North Europe’

“Ok, it is daybreak, what happens to the battle?”

‘They all left. Many bodies on the ground.’

“Are you going home now?”

‘I have no home!’

“You must be very hungry. Where will you go?”

‘To the town.’

“Ok, you walk to the town, what do you see?”

‘People are gathering at the market place. They are tired. A few women are cooking something, ‘

“Ok, you got foods to eat.  Now what happens?”

‘They want more men to join. …. They enrolled me’

“But you are only a teenager.”

‘I have no place to go.  … I follow them to fight …..’

“Did you get killed?”

‘No, I survived.’

“Ok, then what happens to you?”

‘I move to another place’

“Do you get married?”

‘No. I live by myself, in a cabin … in woods.’

“Ok, How did you die?”

‘I become old…. And I died.’

“She has no boyfriend, her roommate is a gay guy, she hangs out at gay bar …” I asked: “Does she have a ‘girlfriend’?” “No, but I notice that ever since she is a little girl, she never likes to play with boys, she is always away from boys, she ….” “Well, you mean she might want to be a transgender?”

She hesitated a little bit. ” I had her at age 43. It was high risk, you know, back then.” I suddenly got it. She is in her mid 70’s and she goes to church every Sunday. This daughter is the only one child. I reminded her: “Regardless what choice she makes, you will be her mother forever, correct?!” “Oh, of course.” But I knew she was concerned.

I guided her to visit her past life. She murmured: “It is summer, I am standing by the river. Many people around.” I asked her: ” Are you a boy or a girl?” “I am in my early twenties. I am a young man with blue jean. I am busy helping people.” I asked: “What are you doing?” “I am helping people to get on boat, I carry their luggage to the boat.” Boat on river? So I asked: ” How big is the river?”

She said: “Pretty big! Steam boat, it is Mississippi.” “Ok, now it is time to go home, is your home far away?” “Not too far. I can walk home. …. I am home now.” I said: “Ok, anyone home?” “No. It is a small house. I walked in kitchen to cook something.” She continued: “I live alone.”

“Let time go fast, what happen to you?” “I am in my 40’s. I am helping people to get on boat.” I asked: “Are you married?” “No! I still live in the house by myself.” So I pressed the time to move fast. “Now, what happen to you? Are you staying at the same place?” She said: “Yes, I am old and died alone.”

We moved on to visit another past life. This time, she landed on a street. “Are you in a city or country?” She said: “I am in city. I am walking down the street.” “Ok, are you man or woman?” She said:” I am a man. I am going to my office.” “What are you doing there?” She murmured: “I am an accountant. But I hate the job. I have to move the numbers around to make my boss happy.” I asked: “Are you married?”

“No. I am single. I’m leaving the city…. I move to the country.” I said: “Ok, do you know where you might be? In the US or Europe?” She said: “New York.” I followed: “It could be 1800 or 1900?” She said: “Early 1900. I am a farmer, I grow my own food.” “Ok, do you get your wife there?” She frowned: “No. I never got married. I am alone.” I pressed the time and asked her: “How did you die this life?” She said: ” I am very old, and die on my bed.”

After brought her back to her consciousness, I tole her: “Well, you had been a man for at least two life times.” She understood what I tried to say. “I know. I will accept my daughter regardless whatever choice she makes for herself. And I am her mother forever.”

“I am a teen boy.” I asked her: “What shoes are you wearing?” “Shoes? No shoes!” “OK, What are you doing at the port?” “I am watching the boats. Many boats are out there.” I asked her: “Is any of your parent around?” “No, I am hiding behind a post…. They are fighting, the boats are fighting, they shoot, fires everywhere.”

“What kinds of the boats?” I asked. “Like in 1600. In Europe. Boats are sinking .. Big fight.” I asked her: “Can you go home?” “Yes, I run back home.” I followed: “Any one else on the street?” “No! I am home now.” I asked her: “Is it a big house? Any one at home?” She sounded sad: “No, I am the only one left. A little house with a fireplace and stove.”

“Where are you parents? or grand?” I asked her. “They all dead. I am the only one.” “OK, what is your dinner?” “A loaf of bread and some beans. They brought these to me….. But soon they stopped bringing food to me…. no more!”

She suddenly started to cry, her body jerked, tears dropped down, and she screamed …”No, no, I don’t want to remember! No!” It was abreaction, I calmed her down.

“It is over, it is only in the history. Then, what happened?” She replied: “I died.” Worrying she might get another abreaction, I didn’t ask her how and at what age.

When she returned to her consciousness, she said: “I knew that port, it is Dublin in Ireland. I knew that place.” She continued: “Couple years ago, I took my son to visit Ireland, my first trip to UK and Ireland. When I stood at the port and looked out the water, I knew I had been here many many years ago.” She then sighed: “Wars are terrible! People have no foods, no homes.”

“My doctor refused to do surgery on me, if I don’t quit. Because smoking will affect my recovery.” I assumed she got lung problem. “I do cough often, but my surgery will be my hernia. They tried to fix my hernia twice in last 12 years, but failed, I could not heal. And last week, my doctor told me if I don’t quit smoking, he would not do anything for me.” So she came.

Other than the hernia made her belly big, she is a nice looking lady in her early 70’s. I gave her a head-up: “You know, lots people gain weight after stop smoking.” “Oh, I lost 40 pounds in last two years, I don’t want to regain the weight.” I knew the body weight is closely related to emotions and mind, so I told her: “We can work on it.”

After asking her few questions, I soon realized that there were 3 major obstacles on the path of stop smoking. One was her husband’s drinking problem, one was her resentment of her abused / harassed childhood and one was her anxiety of her very unhappy mother-in-law.

We know, most smokers are using smoking to feel relaxing, to think how to deal with the situations, and to fit in the groups. Smokers depend on smoking more for emotional reasons than physical withdraws.

So, we worked on her husband’s daily drinking by building up her own self-confidence. No, she can’t change her loved one, but she can change herself by showing him — [Look! I can quit smoking for more than 60 years, I now smell so fresh and I am so proud of myself.]

The second one, the bad childhood memories. I did cycle therapy, brought her back when she was sexually harassed at age 9 and got her healed. The third one was how to deal with her mother-in-law. “You know, when I just got married, I wore size 4. I gained weight and I got hernia in last 12 years. Each time, when I went to see my mother-in-law, she always said: ‘I remember you were so slim.’ Every time… she always said something to make me feel uncomfortable. She is a miserable woman.”

“How old is she?” I was curious, for Candie is her 70’s. “She is 89, and my father-in-law is 90. You know what, I sometimes think I don’t want to live long life and end up like her. That’s another reason I hesitate to quit smoking.”

“Candie, you don’t need to live her life. You are you, she is she! The quality of your life in your remaining years, could be 5 or 10 years more, is more important than whatever she said to you! You quit smoking, you control your weight, you look beautiful and enjoy your life… You make your husband and his mother feel jealous about you. Does it sound good to you?”

Candie gave me a big smile: “I love that!” I told her to clean up all the cigarettes at home and anywhere she was hiding those She laughed out loud: “I did before I came! I am a non-smoker now!”

I told him that I have to go over some issues in his current life. “Why?” “Well, based on my experience, if I don’t take care of strong issues in current life, the clients will visit the sites where the problems have happened. They will be pulled back by their real concerns in current life.”

He admitted that he has been a smoker for many years, but he only smokes 4 or 5 cigarettes a day. I told him: “I know a few psychologists or psychotherapists are smokers, heavy smokers.” Mike is a healer, so he does all the psychic protection, grounding, and chakra healing on himself regularly. That means he is not influenced by his clients’ bad vibes.

“Why do you keep smoking? Since you know all the tricks.” I was curious. ‘I have fear.” “Fear?” My curiosity got higher, but I soon sensed that he was relying on smoking to provide security. It is emotional dependence.

“I got divorced with my kids’ mother. I made very bad investment and lost my shirt. I came from recreational drugs to heavy drugs … till one day, about 10 years ago ….. my friend took me to Mexico to get treatment. They used a root extract from an Africa tree to make me drink. I vomited my whole things out, I slept, I thought I got into nirvana. It took me a good week there. When I came back, I did not have any desire for whatsoever drugs.”

“So, the only think you keep is smoking?” I asked him. “Yah, I don’t drink.” It was obviously that he was using the action of smoking to escape something he did not want to deal with.

“Yah, you know, my partners and I are planning to set up a retreat center for heavy drug addicts. It is a new adventure. Sometimes, I need to go outside from the meetings to smoke. My girlfriend, I call her wife, is also a strong woman. I usually go outside to smoke and watch the stars before I go to bed every night.” He continued: ” You know, I am in my middle age, I am supposed to have very strong desire to make money. But ever since I got the experience of nirvana, or at least I felt that way, in Mexico, I lost the desire on chasing money. I made a lot of money, but I lost all.”

We now see it clearly that his fears are [what if the new adventure of setting up a retreat center fails?] and [lack desires on chasing money which might affect the relationship with his girlfriend (wife)] Smoking is only an action to get temporary escape. So we figured out a way to substitute the action of smoking. I also reminded him: “Word of mouth. I believe that you will recommend heavy drug addicts to that center in Mexico, right? Share your own experience, money will follow you.”

Most women with emotion issues have to deal with over-weight as well. But Sammie looked good in her 50’s. “Have you ever stopped smoking?” I was curious. She said: “Yes, twice. Soon as I knew I was pregnant, I stopped for my 1st and 2nd babies.”

“Then what happened? Do you know why you re-start?” I asked. Sammie said: “The relationship with my ex was too stressful. He was drunk, on drug. It was too much to take care of my babies and him at the same time.” She continued: “I also stopped for 6 months when I had my appendix removed.”

“And then?” She answered: “Job! Stress from job. I worked at a retail store. The new woman boss was very difficult. She did not like me. She fired almost everyone, including me.” I nodded my head: “When did you get the first cigarette after you stopped for 6 months?” “Soon as I got back to work. And I smoked more when they changed my boss.”

Sammie is now smoking 2 to 2& 1/2 packs a day, first thing to do in the morning and last thing to do before go to bed. “When did you start smoking?” I asked. “11. I was living with my grandparents. My grandma was a smoker, so I simply helped myself.” “Was your grandma aware of this?” I asked. She shrugged: “One day, she told me to stop. She said I know how many are in there. So I went out to smoke with my friends and they helped me buy some.”

“Do you enjoy smoking?” I asked. Sammie responded quickly: “NO! It is nasty. It tastes terrible. It smells nasty. I don’t smoke inside. I only go outside to smoke.” It was so obvious that Sammie was using smoking to deal with her stress at workplace and with her ex. She still carried the anger because: {I placed restrain order against him. He was on drug. My kids were taken to foster family, then sent to his folk’s house. I became homeless for 6 months because he lost our home ….}

Well, we had many stressors here to take care of. First, I had to help her forgive her ex, but not forget. Second, I had to help her to rebuild her self confidence and see the hope at her work place. Third, I had to help her to cope with the withdraw from nicotine. Of which she would ask her doctor to order some anti-nicotine patches for her.

She was a part-time waitress at a casino. She agreed to go to the card-dealer school as her current boss recommended. I also reminded her that she looked good for her age and she should have no problem to meet a nice guy once she feels fully confident about herself, as a non-smoker.

A week later, she called me that she did not need to remove her gall bladder. Her doctor would use alternative way to take care of it.

I laughed: “Your major is Psychology, then why do you come to see me?” Maria smiled: “I want to get the experience.” Maria is in her early 20’s, skinny. She started to tell me that her parents came from Mexico with nothing. Her smart brother just became a teen father. She has a little bit problem to befriend with her sister-in-law because Maria thinks they are too young to have a baby.

Talking about her parents, she said: “They always argued. My mother stayed home to take care of me and my brother. But soon as my father came home, they started to fight for money.” I asked her: “Are they still in marriage?” “NO! My father went back to Mexico when I was in high school. My mother got a job at a retail store.” She soon looked sad: “My mom just got a baby a year ago with her boyfriend. She is doing part time job, she wants me to help her taking care of my little brother.”

I asked her: “Are you living with your mom now?” She replied: ” Yes, but I don’t want to. I got part time job, I got school! I don’t really want to be her babysitter. But she needs me now, and I want to have my career.”

I asked her: “Have you ever talked to your father at Mexico?” Maria’s face beamed with joy: “Yes. I love him. He always tells me when I need money, call him. He told me that he will cover my college tuition.” I immediately pointed this out to her: “It sounds like your mom wants to keep you around her, but you don’t want to follow her steps. You have strong inner struggle — stay with mom or get out to pursue my own career. Am I right?”

Maria resonated: “Ya! I feel guilty if I leave my mom. But I don’t want to be her babysitter. I want to run a business. I want to have my own business. I don’t want to become her. I am the only one in the family getting college degree.”

“Go for it! Your own future is more important than your mom’s needs. Let see what happened in your past life. See what is holding you from moving forward.” So I guided her into her past lives.

In one of her past lives, she was a very successful business man who was running a sewing factory to produce fashion clothing. That is a good indication why she wants to be a business woman.

Sure enough, I encouraged her to take business related courses, get out of her mom’s influences and seek her father’s financial assistance when she move forward.

[Well, since 11 years old!] She frowned. [OK. Why do you want to quit after … say… nearly 50 years?] I questioned her.

[My wife does not like it. I want to quit for her! I want to keep her!] She looked uncertain now. [Well, it is NOT a strong reason.] I pointed it out to her: [You have to do it for yourself! Otherwise, it won’t work!]

Joan sighed: [I know, I don’t like the smell too. My grandchildren want me to quit too!] [Then why do you keep smoking?] I was curious. [I like the feeling of smoking. My mind told me it is not good, but I just like the feeling.]

She was a woman with children and grandchildren, 20 years ago, she decided to change her gender identity. She is living with her wife in a nice country home, and hey have all future plans set. There is no stressor in her life now. Obviously, there is something unknown tied Joan down to the feeling of smoking.

So we went to visit her past lives. In one of her past lives, she was a man and her current wife was his wife. That explained the bonding relationship between Joan and her wife.

Her visit to another past life was: [ I am in my little wood cabin. I can see my Tabaco garden from my kitchen window. ]… {I guided her: ‘ Can you go to your Tabaco garden now?’ … [Yes!] … {I guided her: ‘You walked in the garden, what do you do?’ } … [I touch my Tabaco leaves, they look so fresh and green. I am going to have a big harvest.]

This explained her attachment to the cigarettes is rooted in one of her past lives as a Tabaco grower. Once we discovered the root, we then uprooted the cause and helped her to quit smoking.

I asked: “Are you flying?” She said: “I am floating in the clouds. I am in the white clouds.” I followed her: “Ok, what else do you see? “ Eyes closed, but she looked happy: “A dragon. A green and gold dragon…… The dragon has red eyes, winking to me.”

“Ok. What that dragon says to you?” I asked. She said: “No, I am simply following the dragon and flying, floating, turning.  We go ups and downs, we are having good time.”  At this moment, it downed on me that she was a dragon too.

So, I asked: “What color you are wearing? “She tilted her head and said: ”I am green and blue.” “so what happens to you two?”  She hesitated: “….I don’t know….. She disappears ….  I am out of the clouds…. “

I asked: “Are you still a dragon?”  She said: “No. But I want to leave now.”  So I guided her out there and into another life.

“I see the sunrise, I see the trees, I see the clouds….”  I asked: “Where are you?”  She replied: “I am on a high mountain.” She continued: “It is raining now…. I feel so good!”  I asked: ”Anyone around you?”

“No! I am a big rock!” She smiled: “Now, it snows…”  I asked: “How do you feel?” (I was expecting to hear something like cold), she kept the smile: “I feel so great! I feel so peaceful up on the mountain.”

I asked: “Then what happens?”  “Not much. Some animals come around. They are so cute! I like here.”  There are not much to talk about as a big rock on the mountain, she decided to leave. So we move on to her next life which was a baby girl.
